A study by the Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard University has found
that weaning a baby on to solid food too early could increase its chances of
becoming obese, with the best age to introduce solids four to five months
old. Bottle-fed babies started on solids before four months were 6.3 times
more likely to be obese by the age of three. The research is published in
the American journal Pediatrics.
